::baby talk::
95.8FM have a programme every Sunday that discusses about babies/children and advises listeners on ways to teach the baby etc etc. This morning the person was talking about how children have a curiosity for almost everything and how adults should respond to their questions and blah. She cited an example about children asking adults why leaves are green in colour. Upon hearing that I told my mom 'but even if the adult answers the question the kid might not understand!' [surely you don't expect the kid to know what's chlorophyll] I was expecting her to say something like how the adult should phrase it so the kid could get it but instead she said [!] '我才不像那些笨小孩,问这种问题因为我知道叶子青色是天生的! ', in cantonese. I was blardy shocked!!! And so I responded quite loudly with a 'no wonder you didn't end up a great person!!! Look at Newton!! He questioned why the apple landed on his head which led to his discovery of gravity!!!!' And so she said 'ya! I was never a great person!' and continued eating her breakfast as though nothing happened.
