No wonder my hit counter is missing.
::where's my hit counter???::
WHERE IS MY HIT COUNTER?? IT IS MISSING FROM VIEW! I NEED TO SEE IT!
::ever just the same::
Did anybody realise that my titles always have no reason whatsoever?
Anyway, school ended real early today and now I am at home, blogging. There's PE this morning but it was not physical conditioning [thank goodness]. We played handball instead. It was raining so we played in the rain. But nobody seem to bother about the weather. After the game, we were all drenched. [Duh.]
----------------------------------------------
As usual, I was the redundant player who just appeared to be running around the court like an idoit.
----------------------------------------------
Got our NAPFA test certificate after that. Maybe I should rephrase my sentence. Failures don't get a certificate so I did not get it. Maybe they should give us at least a Certificate of Participation? It's rather unfair to us. In the report card, they are going to record us failures as people who exercise too little and whatever stereotypical statements. Well, all the other girls got the Gold award, 1 got Sliver, 0 bronze. I must say that the fitness level of the girls are rather high.
-----------------------------------------------
It's always like that, but I admit that I am such a lousy player so it doesn't matter.
-----------------------------------------------
The teacher left us alone for chinese. She gave us some work and disappeared. With her, 2 other guys escaped. And I must comment that their escapade was rather.. dramatic. The tables were being banged by the stuff they were carrying and they huffed and puffed out of the room. Now there is this guy who was known to the class as the dog. You know, woof? Anyway, they were asking whether he transformed into a dog during Mid Autumn festival [the day of the year where the moon was its roundest and brightest] and whether did he eat any people up. I though that was rather amusing.
----------------------------------------------
I don't even dare to volunteer to be the goal keeper lest I keep helping the other team score by not defending well.
----------------------------------------------
Ok, when I was on my way home just now. I noticed that many people smiled at me. When I got up the bus, the bus driver acknowledged my presence by smiling at me. I was wondering if I appeared as though I was smiling or what. And when I was walking towards my block, I saw this little girl who was going to school. She smiled at me as well! Now I was thinking if I really looked as though I was smiling. But I smiled back in any case since she flashed such a brilliant smile at me.
::starbucks::
Finally made it to Starbucks today. Almost immediately I started on my studies but it was really tough. Besides, I was worried about other stuff. My friend asked me if I want to join her for tuition today. Actually I wanted to, but in the end, because I decided that my chemistry needed more help, I didn't go for it. It could be a blessing in disguise. So there I was, doing my stuff and occassionally chatting with another friend. It was around 6.45pm that I decided that I was really hungry and so I urged her to go grab a bite with me. So we went.
I asked here if my skirt was stained when we went out of the library, and it was. Dammit. The second time this whole year! We quickly adjourned to the toilet inside the library and started washing away the stain. She was really kind and understanding. She seemingly did not find it disgusting, but even helped me to washed the stain away! Thank you so much!!!! That's the difference between really close friends and just friends. Yup. And I am thankful that I did not go for the tuition. Or else the thing would just overflow and I would be in a helpless state.
Walked all the way to Parkway. The big patch of water soon dried up. Bought some dough fritters and a big piece of bread. Was really bloated after that. We couldn't stay outside for too long for our bags are still parked in Starbucks, so we had to leave ASAP. Was saying that the people there would be so irritated with our bags that they would throw it out the door. Cos that didn't happen. Ha. Finished all my Matrix etests, including the one that I thought was closed long ago. Passed all of them marginally. But I am still thankful. Wonder how many people would turn up today...

::Mid Autumn Festival::
Happy Mid Autumn Festival everyone!! Have a fun time eating mooncakes and pamelos!!
Something interesting to read:
LEGEND OF CHANG E
A long, long time ago, a terrible drought plagued the earth. Ten suns burned fiercely in the sky like smoldering volcanoes. The trees and grass were scorched. The land was cracked and parched, and rivers ran dry. Many people died of hunger and thirst.
The King of Heaven sent Hou Yi down to the earth to help. When Hou Yi arrived, he took out his red bow and white arrows and shot down nine suns one after another. The weather immediately turned cooler. Heavy rains filled the rivers with fresh water and the grass and trees turned green. Life had been restored and humanity was saved.
One day, a charming young woman, Chang'e makes her way home from a stream, holding a bamboo contaiver, a young man comes forward, asking for a drink. When she sees the red bow and white arrows hanging from his belt, Chang'e realizes that he is their savior, Hou Yi. Inviting him to drink, Chang'e plucks a beautiful flower and gives it to him as a token of respect. Hou Yi, in turn, selects a beautiful silver fox fur as his gift for her. This meeting kindles the spark of their love. And soon after that, they get married.
Out of respect for the good deeds the has done, the Western Queen Mother rewards Hou Yi with elixir, a fine powder made from kernels of fruit which grows on the tree of eternity. At the same time, she tells him, "If you and your wife share the elixir, you will both enjoy eternal life. But if only one of you takes it,that one will ascend to Heaven and become immortal".
Hou Yi returns home and tells his wife all that has happened and they decide to drink the elixir together on the 15th day of the eighth lunar month when the moon is full and bright.
A wicked and merciless man named Feng Meng secretly hears about their plan. He wishes Hou Yi an early death so that he can drink the elixir himeslf and become immortal.His opportunity finally arrives. One day,when the full moon is rising, Hou Yi is on his way home from hunting. Feng Meng kills him. The murderer then runs to Hou Yi's home and forces Chang'e to give him the elixir, Without hesitating, Chang'e picks up the elixir and drinks it all.
Overcome with grief, Chang'e rushes to her dead husband's side, weeping bitterly. Soon the elixir begins to have its effect and Chang'e feels herself being lifted towards Heaven.
Chang'e decides to live on the moon because it is nearest to the earth. There she lives a simple and contented life. Even though she is in Heaven, her heart remains in the world of mortals. Never does she forget the deep love she has for Hou Yi and the love she feels for the people who have shared their sadness and happiness.
There are many variations to the story, and the above is just one of them.

This reminds me of my project work task given to the class when I was in Secondary Two. We were supposed to do a puppet theatre thingy. Our story was the Legend of Chang E. Not the best experience, but .. it's just an experience.
::under the sea::
Guess what happened today?
Was leaving school and thinking of going to Starbucks to study. But I was hesistating, wondering if I should go or not. Perhaps I was waiting for a signal, a signal which will tell me if I should go to Starbucks or just go home to study. I was hesistating because I am having my time of the month now and I worry that it might overflow. Ok, so I was walking down the corridor with 2 of my friends and suddenly a classmate called me.
"There's something on your skirt leh."
"Really ah?" I was visibly shocked.
"Yeah"
"Really a not? Are you kidding or what?"
"Really!"
"Sure a not?!"
"Really lah!"
"Huh... are you certain?" Now I was wondering if I should believe him. Maybe he was just kidding as he is [kind of] laughing now.
"Really.. you don't believe can ask XX to see".
And so he left.
Then I was like, "XX come here. See my skirt got anything?"
And she was "hmm.. I think is the stain leh.. you ask YY to see"
So the other girl came over, looked for a while and suggested that I go to the toilet. And true enough, it was stained. I was soooooooo embarassed!!! Gosh, I wonder how many people saw it. So I quickly washed the stain away. It was a disgusting process. Anyway, I got the signal I wanted and went home. Stupid. I hate it when it comes. And today I was told that my skirt was stained by a male classmate. Call me conservative or whatever, but I seriously think it's very embarassing.
End of story.

::new layout::
It's been ages since I last blogged again. Just re-did my blog layout. The tagboard's gone, if you noticed. Changed the name of the blog to FIREFLY as well. My sister kind of thought that butter + honey was not suitable so she suggested pineapple + coconut instead. What can I say? Planned to do great things today. But in the end, I sort of ended up doing nothing except facing the computer. Am going to finish my comprehension today. Can't be so unproductive. I will be DAMNED!! Went for tuition on Saturday. Was quite useful. There were hamsters in the tuition centre! So cute! I kind of missed Yuna so I decided to put her in my blog. I think I told many people about the OPEC thingy. Well, I can't keep the joke all to myself can I? Now my brother is having difficulty with the chinese dictionary. He's voice is getting louder and louder day by day and it's VERY deafening. Went to my grandparents' yesterday. Haven't been to visit them for the longest time. Got back some mooncakes for Mid Autumn Festival tomorrow. Boy, time really flies. Promos are next week already. And I am especially proud of my school today. Go to MOE's website to find out why if you are bored and got nothing better to do. Wonder if any of you out there know this blog: xiaxue.blogspot.com I heard it's the most popular Singaporean blog. But there's nothing there to see, really. I didn't really read her entries, but there were some comments about her being a bitchy reporter. *Shrugs* There's no PE tomorrow! Finally. Break from that torturous lesson. My friend has been telling me the story of Yi Tian Tu Long Ji. Some Kungfu story about the pugillist world. Quite interesting, but still, quite disgusted by the fact that most guys watch it because of Zhao Min, this Mongolian Princess. Her eyes are beautiful though. Look like Ayumi Hamasaki's.

::touch::
I should say that nothing significant happened in school today. Lessons ended at around 2.30pm, which was the earliest for so many days in the year. Wanted to do my math TYS but could not find the required notes. Ended up watching some of the recorded Olympics instead. There's a test on Friday and I have not started revision. I need to find that set of notes! Now I am just sitting aimlessly in front of the computer thinking of what to write next. Argh. ...

::reborn::
HELLO EVERYONE!! After taking a break, I am finally back! Sorry to those that dropped by only to discover a blog that is so outdated. Quite a number of things happened recently, but I don't think I should go into the details. Yesterday had my PW Oral Presentation rehearsal. Only ten to fifteen minutes before lunch ends, I discovered that I had covered the wrong section. There was some silly comunication problem with another member, and he ended up misinterpreting what I was telling him. Anyway, that guy kind of like totally freaked out and started shitting and grumbling away. I was pretty distraught too, but not as nervous as he was. When I told the group that I will immediately start working on that part, he started saying that I shouldn't be so nervous and should relax. So who's more nervous than who here? Obviously he had put all the blame on me and is glad that I got him out of trouble. Disjusting. Somehow I didn't perform well during my part. It was the mediocre kind of presentation, but I felt that it could be much better. School ended really late because of that. Anyway, there's PE today. Was kind of glad that we didn't have to do physical conditioning. Our PE teacher improvised the game dodgeball (as seen in the movie) and told us to play it. It was kind of interesting yet dumb. We would use the squash or table tennis balls to throw at our opponents and everything. The girls were shrieking and screaming away in the enclosed squash court, I swear I could have gone deaf. And I think that I really am rather slow. Today my friends [supposedly] followed behind me as we went into the chinese classroom. When I was halfway through, I suddenly realised that it was too quiet. And yes, they left me to walk in alone like an idiot. I made my way towards the door, flung it open and was greated by a rather loud "BOO!". Naturally, I'd scream my head off, leaving the girls laughing in their own joke. They said they actually had the time to rearrange their 'stand by positions' quite a number of times before I actually opened the door. My gwad. Am I really so slow?? There's still another example to illustrate that. We were supposed to go to another classroom after chinese and I was walking 1st again. I opened the door slightly and saw some guys in the front row. Immediately, my brain told me there were people in the class. But who are they? Are they the guys from my class? But yet they dun look like. So who are they? That's the point!! That's the previous class whose lesson had not yet ended!!! Quickly I slammed the door shut. Oops. That processing part took roughly 3 seconds, which is already rather long since human reaction time is no more than 0.2s. So what's the conclusion? In any case, I got my chinese promo paper back and.... YES! I passed! 61%! Oh yeah, I was supposed to go for tuition last saturday but I overslept so I missed my lesson. Now how dumb can 1 get?

Russian school siege
Let us take a minute to pray for those innocent children and adults that died or were injured during the siege.
If you are reading this, it means that you are still alive and well and should take sometime to count your blessings.

::saturday::
Went to the Supreme Court for my learning journey today. Visited the Court of Appeal and the Technological Court. It's really cool. We were allowed to sit anywhere we like. The laywyers' sit, the convict's sit, even the judges'! Cool eh? I sat in front of some mixers. That place was supposed to be where the people recording the court proceedings would sit. Learnt quite a fair bit. I was quite inspired but the entire place. Went out with the class after the journey. They wanted to watch a movie but I did not go with them. No money. Wasn't very interested in the show they wanted to watch either. But we had lunch together. The boys were inconsiderate as usual. As soon as they found a sit, they flopped down, ignoring us. Gone were the traditional, gentlemantly boys. Anyway, finished Angels and Demons today. A damn good read. But the ending.. it wasn't very nice. Had quite an empty feeling. I felt that it was due to the fact that I kept stopping and reading, making the exelerating feeling last only for a short while. Pity. I want to re-read it when I have time. But now I am currently reading the Da Vinci Code. My friend spoiled the story for me yesterday when she accidently leaked out the main plot. But I am reading it in any case. By the way, i just got a hair cut.
::detergent::
Friday
Suddenly remembered something my physics teacher said about talent and detergent. "Actually you all have talent but you just wash them away.. with detergent." When he said that, his face was so solemn. We were laughing hysterically. That happened on Thursday. So what happened on Friday? Well, had CO. It wasn't so bad since I wasn't scolded so badly. I want to get a drumstick. Those Western kind. I want to practise!!! The conductor said I shouldn't be playing the snaredrum since I just started learning. He means to say I am going to screw up the whole song if I played that. Well, I had another instrument to play for that song. The triangle!!! Easy, you may think. But it is not!! SO don't pass stupid comments. Doubt you can do it any better if you have no music background.
::dentist::
Thursday
Visited the dentist today. Braces. I have waited for 2 years already and I thought they have forgotten all about me. Reached there thirty minutes before the appointment time but still, it ended really late. Took x-rays, photographs and made a mould for my teeth. I think the x-rays part was the most disgusting. The machine is so scary. I thought the radiation would shock me as the mechanism moved around me, stopping from time to time in front of my face. Then there was the "bit" x-ray. It was the most terrible one. The doctor inserted this cardboard or stiff card into my mouth, almost choking me. It felt like the card was cutting my throat. But it didn't take long. The x-ray was taken in a flash. Then there's the ear plug x-ray. It was so itchy, I felt like laughing but the doctor kept repeating "keep still" and it frightened me. There was a lot of waiting to do. I was shuffling from place to place. The dentist made a mould out of my teeth as well. Was quite stunned when she inserted this blue soft stuff into my mouth. The metal where this blue stuff was placed was so huge. The edge of my mouth hurt when it was inserted. But the thing was cool to the touch and tasted quite nice. Like mint. Took pictures after that. Didn't enjoy it either. They stuffed this gargantuan cold metal into my mouth and I had to hold it there for so long. Horrid experience. But it ain't going to end here. Next month I will have to go to pluck 4 teeth and get the braces done. The dentist applied some purple liquid on my teeth to show the plague. Yuck. The 4 top front teeth was pretty purple, but the bottom row was surprisingly clean. She gave me one of those little heads that were used to polish the teeth and a cup and told me to brush away those stains in the toilet. People looked at me as though I was some kind of freak as I brushed those stains away. People walking in and out of the toilet glanced at me from time to time. It's so expensive just for that 1st visit. It cost my mom more than $100. The total cost is going to amount to $2500++. Goodness. Anyway, got the chance to skip most of the lessons in school. Arrived just in time for lunch. What good timing!
::angels and sleeping cutie?::
Wednesday
Spent the whole holiday reading today. Finished my Sleeping cutie in the afternoon and started with Angels and Demons. These 2 stories are 2 worlds apart. How should I put it? Sleeping Cutie is so .. shallow. This silly, klutzy and bimbotic girl who tranformed into a bitchy and confident lady. Everyone is oh so glamorous and handsome and rich. But it isn't as bad as I have described here. There are still some twists in the story that I thought was quite interesting. Can consider reading if you have time. But Angels and Demons.. took my breath away!
Literally. Made me like physics even more and inspired me quite a bit. A lot of surprising twists as well. I really recommend this book! I think it's a must read. Yup.
::traumatized::
Tuesday
Wow. Yet another 4 days unaccounted for. Decided to not blog after Tuesday because I was so badly shakened. Why? The CO barbeque. I went there hoping to have a good time but instead got the fright of my life. Before we go on to that point, let me talk about something else. Tuesday was Teachers Day. Went to school in the morning to have lessons. People were already skipping school that day. After lessons, many tried to get away. The bad part: the gates were guarded by the Student Council. Some escaped successfully by giving lame excuses but most of them were not very successful. My friends and I were one of those that tried but failed. Went to the hawker centre across the road to eat instead. We were commenting on how unfortunate and pathetic the teachere were, with so many of their students running away after the lessons, no one wanted to stay for the concert. It's Teachers Day after all. But where are the students to do the present giving and the usual stuff? Gone. Vanished. Goodness. But of course, not everyone disappeared. There was still quite a substantial number of people in school. The concert wasn't interesting at all. We appeared to be having a picnic in the hall instead. When the concert was over, the student council urged us to do the mass dance and told us (no no.. pleaded) not to leave. Well, 7 out of 8 of the whole population left, only a miserable amount stayed behind. I heard they did the ACES Day thing after that. I wasn't there already anyway. HA. Went back to my seconday school, filled up the cards and gave them to the teachers. I would say some of them have remarkably good memory, but others.. oh well. Saw so many old friends there. Was quite happy to see them. Got a handphone keychain as well. Went out with 2 other friends after that. I would say we discovered quite a lot more about each other. (But I am not sure about them.) After minutes of begging each other not to leave and good byes (as usual), I left.. for the barbeque. It started of quite well, witht the cool sea breeze and everything. My friend and I were admiring dogs and chatting with the others. The horror came at night. When darkness fell and the moon hung in the sky. They started exchanging ghost stories. What month is this!!! Bad timing I would say. I was extremely freaked out. We started screaming at the slightest thing and after all that, we had no more appetite. Went to sit at a picnic bench under a big tree with the girls. Our bags were there. They started talking about how eerie the moon looked in its unnatural dark orange shade. Then they said something about not looking up trees at night (and there we were sitting directly under a huge tree). I was so terrible freaked out. They were elaborating about the whole thing but they were cut short. Something fell from above. Some rather big. It hit my left arm and I started screaming. The others followed and left the table. I was stunned and temporary paralysed and could only sit there and scream like some idoit. But eventually I felt strong enough to climb of the table. Too much of a coincidence. Left for home a while after that with a few others.
